We’re delighted to announce that submissions are open for two exciting new anthologies, offering opportunities for poets and short story writers of all ages.

JUMP INTO THE PAST
submission deadline: 8 August

ARTEFACT
submission deadline: 11 July
ARTEFACT is set to be our fourth poetry and short story anthology. This time we’re focusing on the stories within the historical objects cared for by a Gloucestershire museum.
In collaboration with the Corinium Museum, we’re inviting you to respond to the artefacts in their collection. An artefact is an object which has been made or used by a person. It may be a tool or a pottery vessel, or a bead or a bone, or even a pebble used as a fishing weight. The object itself may be fascinating, or the circumstances in which it was found may be the key. Your story or poem should relate to a historical object in some way … but how it relates is up to you. Find out more >
JUMP INTO THE PAST is our first children’s anthology. We’re delighted to be collaborating with the Corinium Museum to create an opportunity for young writers, and raise money for an important children’s project.
In collaboration with the Corinium Museum, we’re inviting young writers aged 8 to 15 to write a poem or short story about a moment in the past. We recommend visiting the museum to get ideas! You might find an idea by thinking about the story behind an Iron Age tool or a Roman pot, or a bead from an ancient necklace or a bone, or even a pebble used as a fishing weight. The object itself may be at the centre of your idea, or the modern day story of the people who found it. Or perhaps your story or poem is about someone like you, visiting the museum and finding a surprise … Find out more >
